Demo Day

Today we had some great demo's of quick & easy ways to piecing.
Pat showed this simple Bow tie block with the 3-D center.

Below the center has been top-stitched down to create a different effect.

Kate B. showed us Anita's arrowhead block

& some fast half square triangles from the Missouri Star Quilt Company's tutorials

Rena B showed ways to make fast & easy blocks, without any fabric waste.


These were tubular. Rena uses lots of starch on her fabric to tame the bias edges.







Kate showed these 2 tops made with fast techniques.

TODAY'S SHOW & TELL:


Jana P made these Puffins for the small quilt auction. (SQA)

Connie C bound 2 Comfort Quilts (CQ),


& made this quilt for Friends of Pets.


She also made her jacket.


New member Shirley S. showed 4 quilt tops .



& a little counted cross stitch hanginf.


& 2 tiny quilts she made using the little hangers that were donated to the guild a few weeks ago.

Margaret McL, showed a top she has made for her Arizona home.

Jan W revealed the quilt she made for the Teddy Bear Tea. This will be the banner quilt for our Teddy Bear tea from now on.

Barbara C. made this for the small quilt auction.

Rhonda F made & donated a bag full of quilts with animals for the Teddy Bear Tea.








Irene S showed her Poppies that will be in the SQA in September.

She also showed this cat made by Louise B.

After the meeting I went over to Doriola's to have lunch with my husband. Our quilt is hanging on the wall there. It was fun watching people react to it.



I also found some familiar faces there!

August -Daytime Show & Tell



All of the above small quilts were made by day-group members, started at the July day program given by member Carrie P.

Below were all of the show & tell. I apologize for not having any more information, but the camera lady was taking pictures while holding a 3 month-old baby, & didn't have a 3rd hand to take notes.






Ruthe finished this found block into a small auction quilt.
The red/white & blue quilts are service quilts for Quilts of Valor.



Lavonne DeBore visited.

New member Shirley showed here yo0yo vest,

& donated this quilt for the small quilt auction.
Marilyn G. donated the for the SQ Auction.
Rachel K brought some of her Mexican embroideries, transformed into quilted pillows & wall hangings,
along with 3 mo/old grandson Jack. He was sooo cute!







Elaine F. did some hand crochet while recovering from surgery,

& made some tiny quilts, for babes in bags.

Sandy Winfree has been doing her own stencil cutting, then paintings on fabric, & turning them into wall hangings to sell at the Christmas bazaar.





This young quilter came with Barbara C. & made the quilt she is showing above.
Barbara is make these Christmas pillows. She said she only has 9 more to go.

Mary L. made & quilted this quilt.
